The night keeps no records.
This page says, in plain words, what happens to anything you bring to Blixi — what we keep, what we never keep, and why. It is short, because very little happens, and almost none of it is about you personally. That is the design.
What you say to her at night
When the night asks what kept you awake, you say it out loud, into your own room. Nothing you speak is recorded. No microphone is switched on, nothing is written down, and nothing is sent to us or to anyone — there is no recording to keep, because none is ever made. She may seem to listen; that is her way, and the truth beneath it is a gentle one — your words never leave the room. They are yours alone, and then they are gone. You will never have to say anything twice, and nothing you say follows you into tomorrow. That is her oldest vow.
What stays on your own device
Your sky — the nights you have kept — lives in your own browser, on your own phone. So does your member key, if you hold one. If you are here on the free nights and you clear your browser or lose your phone, your sky simply begins again from an empty night, the way real skies do. We can't bring it back, because on the free nights it was never held anywhere but with you.
What a membership keeps safe
If you're a member, we keep one small thing safe for you: the dates of the nights you've kept — the little points of light in your sky, and nothing more. Those dates rest on our server (hosted for us by Netlify), tied to your membership, so that if you lose your phone or open the night on another one, your sky returns to you while your membership is active. What we hold is only the calendar of kept nights — never a tale you heard, never a word you spoke, never anything private. Just enough so the sky you built isn't lost with a phone.
Payment
Membership is handled by Stripe, who process payments for much of the world. Your card never touches us — we couldn't see it if we wanted to. Stripe keeps your email so your subscription can find you again, and tells us only that a membership is active, with a plain reference number we use to keep your sky safe — never your card. Their own privacy promises live at stripe.com/privacy.
If you leave your address at the door
If you leave your address at the seven-nights door — or to keep your gift — it's held for us by Netlify (our host) so we can welcome you and wish you a good night. It is never sold, never shared, and it isn't tied to anything you do in the night. On the free nights your address is not a key to your sky — it can't bring a lost sky back; it only lets us write to you. Any letter from us leaves the way it came: quietly. One word and we stop writing, and we'll remove your address whenever you ask.
The quiet numbers
So we can tell whether the nights are truly working — whether people arrive, begin, and drift off — the app counts a few plain moments: a night started, a lullaby begun, a return. These are counts only, gathered into a single tally each day. They carry no name, no email, no membership, no address of any device — nothing that could point back to you. The night counts nights, never people. They stay with us alone, they never follow you to any other site, and they are never sold or used for advertising. That is the whole of it.
What we don't do
No third-party trackers. No advertising pixels. No analytics company watching over our shoulder. Nothing that follows you from Blixi to anywhere else on the internet. No cookies beyond the small, plain ones that let the night work on your own device. We would rather know less about you and have you sleep better.
The companies that help us
Only two companies help us keep the night running. Netlify hosts the site, holds the addresses left at the door (through its Forms), and keeps members' sky-dates and the quiet numbers (in its storage). Stripe handles payment for members, and holds the card and billing details we never see. Both may use what they receive only to run the night for you — never for their own ends.
How long we keep things
A member's sky-dates stay while the membership is active, and we remove them when you ask, or once a membership has ended and you haven't returned. An address left at the door stays until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. The quiet numbers are anonymous from the moment they're counted — there is nothing in them to trace back to you. To have anything removed, just write to us.
